South Korea

This unique opportunity for students will provide them the chance to combine a brief ( yet intensive) cultural immersion experience with a comprehensive, hands-on, insider's view of the major components of the Criminal Justice System in the Republic of Korea. Participating students will gain a basic understanding of Korean culture and social institutions. Within this context, the primary course objective is a detailed understanding of the similarities and differences between the Criminal Justice Systems in the Republic of Korea  and the United States. 

 
Highlights
  • Site visit to the National Police Agency in Seoul
  • Tour of Seoul
  • Site visit to both Daegu Juvenile and Adult Protection Facilities
  • Visit a Korean "Folk Village"

Estimated Program Cost

Fulltime BSU Students
All Fulltime BSU students will be awarded a scholarship. This scholarship will cover tuition, fees, and a portion of the trip. The cost of the tour after applied scholarship money is $3000.00
Non BSU Participants
The cost for Non BSU Participants is $3805 plus tuition and fees.
*Please note, all costs are subject to change due to the increase in airfare rates and the changing exchange rates that are beyond our control.

How to Apply

1. Attend a Study Abroad 101 Session
2. Complete the BSU Study Tour Application below and return them to the Office of Study Abroad  along
3. Visit the Financial Aid office to discuss how you will fund your trip. Some  students take out loans to fund the tour.
4. Apply for a passport immediately to ensure your ability to travel
5. Discuss any concerns with the staff in the Office of Study Abroad early in the application process.
