Visiting Takeo province

Takeo province is  the south of Phnom Penh and about one hour from Phnom Penh to reach by National Road No. 2. Takeo has a several important places to visit such as:

Phnom Tamao (Wildlife Recue Centre) Zoo is about 1200 hectares, located about 30 kilometers southeast of Phnom Penh. There are so many types of animals and some rare species housed here, including tigers, leopards, lions and several species of exotic birds.

 

Tonle Bati and its 13th century temple, built by King Jayavarman VII, was dedicated to Mahayana Buddhism. It is about 35 kilometers south of Phnom Penh.

Phnom Chiso, this mountain temple was built of laterite, brick and sandstone in the 11th century. The mountain is about 100 meters high, with two sets of stone-made stairs, one on the west with 206 steps and another one on the north with 434 steps to the top.
